About us

Sarah leads the education and nonprofit work and Daniel leads the brewing work. Together they co-founded and ran New Bohemia Brewing in Santa Cruz from 2015 to 2024. Whichever side you come in on, we tailor every project to the partner in front of us.

Daniel Satterthwaite

Daniel has been brewing in the Bay Area since the 1990s. After UC Santa Cruz he trained at the Siebel Institute in Chicago and brewed at a century-old family brewery in Germany's Black Forest, then spent years at Gordon Biersch and Trumer Brauerei.

He helped co-found the Seven Bridges Cooperative home brew supply store, served as Executive Director of the South Bay Brewers Guild, and co-founded New Bohemia Brewing, which took a Great American Beer Festival medal in its first year and ran until 2024. These days he brings that experience to breweries as a consultant.
